Paper Art

Scraps of paper collected from a range of sources are sorted, pulped and remade into new paper with the use of a mould and deckle. During this process I am able to determine the colour, thickness and shape of the newly formed sheets and even embed other elements such as threads, flowers or paper pieces in its fibres. I use these upcycled sheets of paper to create original artworks.

Art. Fragments from magazine black and white photos and pieces of white tissue paper are embedded in handmade black sheet of paper. It bears abstract stitching with fine white paper yarn. The phrase "there is so much hiding amongst the greys" is handwritten sideways.
